Seven Days’ “Luv” (Or: Seven Days La-La-La-La-Luv You)

While the fact that there is little English language information on Thai pop artists to go on may be a valid complaint, it really could be worse: since new music videos are regularly uploaded to Youtube, at the very least I can follow my dear Faye Fang Kaew’s latest releases. (That said, I happened upon a couple of English articles about them last night and discovered that all three members of the group are YOUNGER than I am, and the always hot Kaew is only SIXTEEN. My mind, it has been blown.) In any case, when I discovered and clicked on FFK’s “Your Girl” the other night, I noticed a result in the related videos featuring a screencap with a very Kpop girl group look to it. That group is Seven Days, and the song is called Luv. My interest was further caught when I saw that one of the group’s members is none other than Faye of FFK! Faye in a larger girl group with a cutesier image? Congratulations, Seven Days, you have now convinced me to watch your music video!

Faye Fang Kaew’s “Help Me Please!”

I’ve never blogged about Faye Fang Kaew beyond a couple of video posts on coinlockersbaby, but I’m really into them. They’re a three-member Thai girl group who I discovered last year through a C-ute and Hey! Say! JUMP fanvid featuring their song “Miz Call Miz U”, which is completely addictive crack. The frustrating thing is that there is virtually no English language information on them on the internet; it would seem that everything about them is in Thai. Because of that, I’m only really able to follow them as new music videos appear on Youtube. I suppose I could attempt to follow the news threads in their fan forum, but I’m not sure how much patience I’d have for trying to decipher news in a foreign language. In any case, I looked them up on Youtube recently to see if they had anything new out, and discovered the single “Help Me Please!”, which seems to have popped up in February. Curious?

Berryz Koubou’s brand new double A-side single happens to be the first Berryz single I have truly enjoyed in a long time. This is exciting for me, because Berryz were always my number one before their singles started sucking (to me). My displeasure with the music got to the point that it made me stop caring about the girls themselves, which is pretty surprising looking at my Berryz fandom track record. So now that I’m warming up to them again and genuinely enjoying both of their new songs and PVs, I say it’s time for a little comparison! Which of their two new A-sides will come out on top?
