Taking Cosplay A Step Further

Found this on Magical-Girl.com: Wired.com reports a new trend in Japan, contact lens that imitate anime eyes. I'm tempted to dismiss this as one of the stupidest ideas I've yet seen in otaku circles... but it isn't harmful to anyone, and it isn't going to attract immediate attention if you were walking down the street wearing a pair.

As opposed to, say, dressing up like Vegeta and sputtering incoherent Japanese.

Being anime-related and coming from Japan, I'm sure it'd sell like gangbusters in the States if somebody bothered to import them.

It's not an otaku circle thing, it's a fashion craze (albeit a probably short lived one, they almost always are) and with a large portion of the youth there reading Manga (unlike the US where you get just fan circles) I'm not too surprised.

I think it's a really cool look to see in person, and I tried to find a pair online but couldn't and they probably don't ship to the US anyway.
