Blockbuster Pays the Piper

I've been using Netflix for years now. When I first signed up while living in Florida, the DVDs would be mailed from San Jose, California... then Duluth, Georgia... and finally, Tampa. When we started up again in Hawaii, DVDs were mailed from San Jose - but by the end of last year, was arriving from Honolulu. Very quick service, long-time customer relationship with zero hassle.

So when Blockbuster was bragging about No Late Fees as if they were doing something new and innovative, it annoyed me to no end. Netflix's temporary ownership model meant No Late Fees and I was taking it for granted already. Blockbuster commercials where people were over-reacting to the notion that they'd never have to pay Late Fees again was just insultingly outdated. What next? Blockbuster will start carrying Beta?

Anyway, it turns out there's some fine print to Blockbuster's No Late Fees policy and and now they're paying the price for their deception.

This is almost as funny as the tattooed forehead. Certainly, more satisfying on a personal level.
