I posted a J-music survey on my original blog back on vox, and I was shocked by how many people took the time to answer.
The original intent of the survey was to find out the general blogging publics favorite kinds of music, and hopefully be able to get into new music other than just Hello! Project
It took longer than I thought, but thanks to the help of everyone I was certainly able to expand my music tastes further and be a less biased fan.
That’s why, I ask one more time for everyone to fill out the survey again, and I ask new bloggers to fill it out too. The first few questions, for those who have already written this, the answers have probably not changed but for the sake of newer bloggers, please fill them out again!
The questions:
1. What was the first Japanese song that you ever listened to?
2. Did it inspire you to like that group/singer, or did it turn you away?
3. What is the one song that you have been listening to for the longest time?
4. What group/singer have you liked the longest?
5. What is the song with the most plays on your itunes/media player?
6. Is that song your favorite?
7. If not, what is?
8. Is there any one group that you can listen to all/most of the songs by? If so, who?
9. What is your favorite agency?
10. What is your favorite group/singer?
The purpose of this is to see how peoples opinions have changed over this past year, and perhaps add a few more good songs to my ipod. Please take the time!

Cool survey! Here are my answers (also posted this on my own blog at http://www.yonasu.com/2009/04/j-music-survey-by-minna-iru-kai/)
1. What was the first Japanese song that you ever listened to?
I think it was a trance remix of Hamasaki Ayumi’s Fly High. I bet there was a song before that one too, but I probably didn’t know what I was listening to at that time.
2. Did it inspire you to like that group/singer, or did it turn you away?
I was excited! Even though I was a big fan of manga at the time, I had no idea I would start listening to Japanese music.
3. What is the one song that you have been listening to for the longest time?
Gosh that’s a hard question… Maybe Suzuki Airi’s live singing of FIRST KISS from C-ute’s concert in 2007.
4. What group/singer have you liked the longest?
ELLEGARDEN, miaou and Hamasaki Ayumi (although I rarely listen to her nowadays).
5. What is the song with the most plays on your itunes/media player?
If I don’t count the songs that I always fall asleep to it would be pasteboard - cacao.
6. Is that song your favorite?
Top 5 at least.
7. If not, what is?
I don’t really have just one favorite.
8. Is there any one group that you can listen to all/most of the songs by? If so, who?
Leo Imai, pasteboard, Buono!, ELLEGARDEN, Aragaki Yui and Monkey Majik.
9. What is your favorite agency?
UP-FRONT I guess, but I don’t really care a lot about agencies.
10. What is your favorite group/singer?
Do I really have to choose just one? Well, I’ll go with Leo Imai then.
April 29th, 2009 at 9:08 pm
1. What was the first Japanese song that you ever listened to? I’m not entirely sure, but I’m will to bet it was Rikki’s Suteki Da Ne from Final Fantasy X. I probably heard something from Hamasaki Ayumi WAY before that but I have no clue. I have trouble remembering what happened yesterday, let alone that many years ago!
2. Did it inspire you to like that group/singer, or did it turn you away? I know I really liked it, but I was very into Mando-pop before becoming interested in Japanese Music. It did prob help convert me to a J-pop fanatic.
3. What is the one song that you have been listening to for the longest time? The one I can think of is HALCALI’s Tandem. I’ve loved that track for so long and have been listening to it a lot recently.
4. What group/singer have you liked the longest? Prob Ayu, but my H!P fandom is much greater … just not as long XD
5. What is the song with the most plays on your itunes/media player? Ai no Sono ~Touch My Heart~
6. Is that song your favorite? I wouldn’t call it my favorite, but then again I don’t really have a favorite. It is one of my favs though.
7. If not, what is? Don’t have one
8. Is there any one group that you can listen to all/most of the songs by? If so, who? Morning Musume for sure.
9. What is your favorite agency? Avex
10. What is your favorite group/singer? Morning Musume

Hello! Hey thx for the reply! =D I wasn’t sure if I replied on my blog you would know, or see it soooo, I’ll reply here. lol
The great thing about music is that there’s so MUCH of it by so many different talented artists. A person could listen to new music everyday and never hear all that the world has to offer- and especially if you listen to music from multiple countries like many of us do. ^_^ (…Where am I going with this?) Basically, since everyone enjoys something different, it’s fun to share, learn, and grow as one who enjoys a variety of music.
Yeah, that’s my point.
BoA, gosh, I don’t know what to say about her. She’s an amazing vocalist, dancer, and performer. She’s also a great model and actress(I think). Her music is SUCH a mixed bag though. The style changes from album to album, especially when we talk about Korean, Japanese, and now English. It’s a lot! I feel there’s something there for just about anyone who’s willing to listen.
Koyote may not be the most special group in the world (or Korea) but, they will always be special to me. (I even heard them on the radio while in Korea!) If you like dance music featuring a great female + male vocalists, plus a male rapper, then you would dig the KYT. Also, they do some ballades.
H&MC is rock, obviously. lol. So if you like any kind of J-Rock, then yeah, you should give them a try.
Avex is HUUUUGE!
Thanks again. I added credits to my blog. ^_^ (Gosh I’m an emote… XD)
